Tyik are a native race tied back to a kingdom that disappeared long ago. They are not well known, but their stealth skills are definitely one known aspect. Tribe stories tie them back to when they strove ages ago. Teal has ties to this race.
Appearance
Tyik are best distinguished by their short snouts and rat-like whiskers. While their default hair colour is between brown and black, they often put markings on their hair. These markings are typically cultural. Their height range is about the same as Humans. Their body and figure are also Humanoid although they have rat like tails. They dress in clothing that typically blends them in with the environment around them. The males and females share similar hair lengths, with females having slightly longer hair. Sometimes females get much longer hair, but they traditionally tie back their hair if it gets too long. Females have medium to large size breasts, typically determined by whether they've bared children before. Females also have good size hips and rears. Males have stronger legs, but both females and males have about the same top speed.
Behaviour
Tyik are very open and social with each other often exchanging stories about each other's lives during evening fires. They are the opposite when dealing with outsiders and try to avoid interacting with them. However, if an outsider proves to be friendly or manages to become allies with Tyik, they can be accepted into the social circle. Tyik that are not part of a family are often hiding around the tribe they are part of keeping the place safe. Tyik that have a family are found within the settled part of the clan. Tyik only have their weapons immediately visible when they are hunting for food. They typically hunt food in the evening when animals are on the move. Males and females participate in hunting equally. Males and females take turns when it comes to preparing the food. While Tyik are closed with outsiders and age doesn't seem to make them any more open they will befriend younger outsiders more easily than adult outsiders. In cases where they find out the young are orphaned, they have been known to adopt although this is uncommon and subject to a tribe leader's approval. At no time will a tribe allow their settlement to have anymore than 20% outsiders regardless of conditions. If someone from outside the tribe is invited to visit another tribe, it is customary to offer food to them as a welcome.
Climate
Tyik stay within forested areas and prefer dense woods. When they settle in places that are not dense, they will plant heavily to make the area around them dense. They start setting up tents once their environment is ideal and establish a tribe. Tyik will stick to the same area while their tribe remains. They like areas that are warm year round, although research suggests that Tyik are capable of adapting to winters. They are never found in open areas unless lone and not a part of a tribe.
Reproduction
Tyik use social tactics in an early stage of catching the eye of another. If two Tyik are interested in each other they will spend a good amount of time getting to know each other before deciding on whether to become mates or not. If their one on one time is successful, they will take part in a partnership ceremony where the couple receive the chief's blessing. After they are blessed they are considered official. Tyik initiate like how most mammals do through sexual acts. The pregnancy of a Tyik lasts about three months before they birth live offspring.
