Asteria

Asteria is one of seven annual innkeepers/workers at the Cerian Snow Resort and Lodge (stationed in Chounen). Having lost her mother before she was born (though it's unclear whether she simply left or died), Asteria was adopted by the Rune Wolf Orichalcum, who provided her with a safe, warm cottage to grow up in. Through Orichalcum's intervention, Asteria grew into a perky, adventurous sparrow who loves to make new friends and shows such affection freely. From Orichalcum, she learned a bit of Rune Magic, which is otherwise extremely rare support magic. Being a creature of the winds, she learned fairly quickly (as much like Barrier Magic, Rune Magic is much easier for Wind-based creatures to learn), though she cannot perform advanced spells just yet.

When she was 12, she met Kestrel and Mana, who had been looking to build a resort by Mt. Kinorea, having lost a close friend in a blizzard previously. With the intentions to prevent travellers from meeting the same fate as their lost companion, Orichalcum eventually allowed them to live at the lodge while they worked on the resort. Later joined by Kestrel's brother's younger friend Holo, the trio eventually became very good friends with Asteria and Orichalcum, to the point that when Ori left for a journey, he left both the lodge and Asteria in their care. The business later grew to include Kestrel's brother and Mana's younger sister into the roster, as well as Holo's older cousin. It didn't take too long before chemistry erupted between Asteria and Kestrel once they were living together. The relationship has been very steady (albeit feisty) ever since. 4-5 years into their relationship, Kestrel proposed to Asteria and was met with a ecstatic reply. Conceiving an egg around this time, Asteria excitedly waits for the day she and Kestrel become more than simple Mates.

When Takuto and Crysta spent their honeymoon at the lodge and resort, Asteria seemed to take a special interest in them, partially due to their kindness and adventurer's background. When they paid the group an impromptu visit and spent time with herself and Kestrel, she began to feel more for the most affectionate of the two, Crysta. Eventually, on the fourth elongated visit, Asteria spent a night in Crysta's presence, and became Mates with her after a wonderful time. While she is proud to call herself Crysta's Mate, she does seem to feel guilty leaving Kestrel behind (temporary as it is) to live and adventure with her new Mate for a while...

Asteria is a regular sparrow demon, giving her much to be desired when it comes to her magic powers. However, what she lacks in offense, she certain makes up for in buffing the stats of everybody else surrounding her. As a drawback to being a regular demon, however, Asteria does not have nearly the same stamina or longevity as someone like Takuto does. Still, she doesn't let it get to her, and simply lives in the hopes that she'll improve one day with practice.

Currently, she's got 2 eggs that have yet to hatch. She seems very excited, albeit nervous, about becoming a mother at the age of 16. With Crysta and Kestrel's support, however, she'll definitely manage just fine.

Affectionately, she refers to Crysta as "Cira" (and likewise loves her nickname of "Adoraba"), and Kestrel as simply "Kes" (since it's his nickname that caught on quickly within the group; in return, he calls her "Ria").

After spending more time with Crysta and her Soul Mates, she, Takuto and Chii grew closer and ended up exchanging Mate Marks one night. She seems to look forward to joining their Clan, and helping it grow even more.

Now that Crysta has shown a deep love for Asteria, she's grown more comfortable with her, and even seems eager to have many eggs with Crysta (if she's offered help, anyway, as her first nest of 7 strained her quite a bit). She's become a far more passionate individual as a result as well, although this sudden change has caused something of a rift between Kestrel and herself... While she is determined to fix this on her own, Kestrel's slight jealousy for Crysta might get in the way a little...

It seems that after a woman came to the resort asking for help finding her child, Asteria, Kestrel, Mana, Holo and Orichalcum have gone missing after a demon attack...

Asteria's Mirror World counterpart is Zirconia, a blonde-feathered, orange-eyed banshee bird woman that seems to be of noble descent. While she is kind, she has a hidden lustful side, and is extremely efficient whenever she's in a hunt or battle. Oddly enough, she's colourblind. From Zirconia's body, a very energetic aura spreads easily to whoever she decides to embrace. This makes it extremely easy for her to make Seeds or eggs within another's body, and it is thusly easy to give her one in return. She gets hungry quickly as a result though.
