Despite appearances, Ryoku is actually about 518 years old. Given that information, he's considered a child by dragon standards. And boy, does it show! Explicitly trusting others leads to Ryoku having a great deal of friends, though not all of them are good ones...
Due to the nature of his upbringing, "Ryoku" is actually a mask for Kohr, his true self. The Ryoku mask is often shown to be quite peppy, and full of happy energy. Showing as much love as a manakete possibly can, Ryoku aims to please and protect all of his friends and family. If that mask is ever taken off, however, Kohr can be somewhat depressive, often lamenting the death of his treasured mentor, Aion, who died to protect him centuries ago. Forcing himself to move past his errors and try to live a bright future, it can be quite unsettling when that mask cracks...
For as long as Ryoku has been acquainted with Akibi and his family, he has shown a deep respect and love for Akibi himself, often bringing himself injuries in an attempt to protect Akibi from anymore harm. Due to this, though Akibi often shows embarrassment or even dislike for Ryoku's behaviour, he treasures the manakete just as much, and tries to ease any pain that may befall Ryoku.
Able to speak a broad array of languages (or at least understand them), Ryoku will sometimes verbally slip and start speaking in Old Dialect. A simple nudge will bring him back to the present easily enough. This is due to the advent of stasis (a coma-like resting period that lasts at least 50-100 years for dragons), which Ryoku neglects in order to stay by Akibi's side. This isn't something he says outloud, however, so if he's seen to be lagging behind, physical and mental fatigue may be the culprits.
In terms of fighting, Ryoku often fights long-ranged, using his Tessen (steel-bladed fans) or his Fanned Naginata if he's forced into a fight. If he absolutely has to end a battle quickly, Ryoku will employ the use of Barrier and Wind Magic to crush/slice his foes into defeat. Due to his nature and past, Ryoku will often try to convince his opponents not to face him. Because of this, Ryoku also does not rough house with others very often, knowing he'll underestimate his strength more often than not.
Now that Ragnarok's Call has passed, Ryoku lives a much happier life with Akibi and Takuto by his side. With his mentor, Aion, alive and well, and his relationship with Akibi has gone off without many hitches, Ryoku is much more naturally happy than he was before...although that's hard to notice, given his common facade.
As Takuto is now the twin of Akibi, both twins give him different nicknames, rather than sticking to the one. He is still called Ryoku (meaning "Power") by Akibi, due to the fact that he always stayed strong whenever Akibi could not (and it was the nickname he adopted anyway). By Takuto, he's referred to as Ryouta (meaning "Clear", what Kohr translates out to), as he has always been truthful and fairly dependable in the time either twin has known him (although he always had their backs, like it or not). Now waiting to go through his Dragon Trials to become a true Dragon Lord, Ryoku seems very excited for the future...
After he became a True Lord and gained complete control over his True Form, he binded souls with Akibi and eventually raised a child with him often known simply as Messi. Retaining much of his chipper attitude, Ryoku often shows a great amount of pride whenever he's asked about his family. However, he still seems to have some insecurities...
Mistaking Aoren's friendliness as love, Ryoku asked Crysta to set him, Akibi and Aoren up together, which was initially successful. Though Aoren and Akibi got along better because of it, in the end, they separated, as the relationship had only gone on for Ryoku's sake. After the near-awakening of the Dragon of Creation, Akibi used Aoren's fear of dying as justification to let Aoren go free. Though the arrangement wasn't abusive in anyway, both Lords still feel quite guilty for wasting each others' time. Ryoku himself hasn't taken this all that well, but stays with Akibi without hesitation.
Ryoku was Akibi's only anchor against the Dragon of Creation. Now that Messi is the new Host, he'll simply watch over him in the hopes that his destined Mate will be able to help him more than Ryoku was able to help Akibi...
After he and Akibj became Soul Mates with Crysta, he gave Akibi two Seeds (and one to Takuto), and helped choose 3 children to help raise happily with Crysta and Akibi. Because he's very fond of energetic people, especially children after the positive experience they had with Messi, Ryoku looks forward to raising a big family with his Soul Mates. He also has his eye on Takuto, and seems to hope to Soul Bond with him one day too.
After a rough falling out, and following the revival of Etheram, Ryoku has had his hands rather busy recently, and has begun to go out more often with the little ones to help train them and teach them how to hunt. While Ryoku is indeed happy with his growing family and their cute behaviour, he does seem to miss some of his old ways...

A sprite of Ryoku with his wings out, in a good mood. It's worth noting this was his original design (the sleeves are now black instead of red).
