Ren is a child made from the energy of the Shadow Prince. His mother accidentally obtained the energy from touching the Prince's head and it found it's way into an egg where it grew.
He's always told of how dangerous it is to go outside, so he's often inside reading about the outdoors longingly. He's obedient to his mother but keeps his personal feelings bottled up tight. He fears people because he knows he looks like the Shadow Prince, who is always attacked by everyone realm-wide.
Ren is pretty easy to befriend and has a wide variation of interests to relate upon.
