Hakune

The mentor to Mikage (and Takuto in his first life), Hakune is a fairly cool kyuubi. Despite not being fully matured yet, Hakune is a master of the healing arts, though he is also able to severely injure those who would dare to hurt his friends and family. Displaying a quiet sense of loyalty (especially to return Mikage's absolute loyalty), Hakune will always act to defend his protectorate, Mikage, and all those who come to befriend either of them. Despite showing no outwards signs of liking his kouhai, he will admit to having a soft spot for the half-demon. This isn't always a good thing... As the Ice Region's Lord of Light, Hakune is fairly standard. Taking up the role during Mikage's lifetime, his duties sometimes leave him swarmed in paperwork. Despite that, the break he's received thanks to this adventure has helped Hakune calm himself. In that time, any sharp comments he usually throws out has become softened by this neutral state, although he is still fairly snarky by nature. Despite his traditionally "good" role, Hakune does not believe in following all the rules, and will oftentimes act against his expectations. In short, though he looks like someone who would play by the rules, he won't hesitate to break them and stomp over their remains should he feel justified. As to how he treats his friends, he's the opposite of Yoru. Respectful unless others begin to take advantage of him, Hakune is more likely to sit in the back of the room quietly, offering advice to those who need it every once in a while. Despite his role as a teacher, however, Hakune isn't as patient as some others are, and will verbally slap someone back into line if need be.

Towards Takuto, Hakune is the same as he always has been. Remembering Takuto as a student who would often get into trouble, he nevertheless tries his best to help him grow and mature. Though this was first met with resistance, it seems his help is not going by ignored. Still, Hakune often keeps to himself, and does not seek to befriend Takuto closely (so, the relationship can be thought of as an aloof brotherly sort). Since Ragnarok's Call passed, he's begun to pursue a relationship with Mikage, although Mikage (despite liking his mentor back) is still a bit confused about his orientation (since Mikage was still raised as a human). Until Mikage finally comes to a conclusion, Hakune will stay a respectful distance away from Mikage, although he does seem to become a bit lonesome sometimes...

When Mikage made the mistake to try and choose Hikaru (who had been harboring unsaid doubts about the two of them), Hakune, during the intervals he was unaware of the error, decided to get closer to Sukoru and Mated with her. While he does still harbor affection for Mikage, he no longer butts into his life nearly as often as he would before, and let's Mikage make his own decisions. Since Mikage found Cindy, Hakune seems confident that he'll grow up happily with his own family soon enough.

The relationship between himself and Sukoru is a chaste one, but very stable since it was based off their close friendship to begin with. So far, he seems happy where he is in life.
